So what was I thinking? I knew I wanted a cool cake for my birthday… my husband told me how about Plants vs. Zombies, since I am still addicted to the Survival Endless Game up to now. And so 2 weeks prior to Cinco de Mayo, we started on working on the toppers, which took most of the time to make. With only a few hours to spare each day, with the cake orders coming in everyday, my husband, my sister and myself, work every night to come up with the peashooters, cherry bomb, cob cannon, etc. and of course the zombies.
The base is moist chocolate cake, crumb coated with buttercream frosting, all the fondant and gumpaste are made from scratch.Here are some screenshots of the coolest cake I’ve made so far:
